Fatimah As-Salafy worked for various work-at-home companies since 1997 when she first reverted to Islam. The fact that she’s spent so much time traveling and living abroad made her more determined to earn a living from home, but working as a contract customer service representative with unreliable phone service made it challenging. Starting her own online, home-based business seemed to be one solution.
The first online business Fatimah started (and still runs today) was All Things Quraan. This website is dedicated to helping women around the world become hafizahs (learn to memorize) the qu’ran. Teaching Arabic and qur’an to others is her passion.
Fatimah’s own professional experience as a self-professed “nit picky English teacher who loves correcting grammar” led to her newest online venture, All Things Checked, a virtual copyediting service targeting non-native English speakers (with Arabic as their primary language) in need of documents like resumes, books, thesis, dissertation, website content and other documents checked carefully for spelling and grammar errors, punctuation, subject/verb consistency, sentence structure, overall consistency and form. All Things Checked also offers additional online services:
Arabic/English translation
English/Arabic translation
ILETS and TOEFL preparation
General English classes
Both All Things Quraan and All Things Checked are proof that you can start an online service-based business that allows you to share your special skills and expertise with a global market.
Muslimahs Working at Home was created to provide women with a financial alternative to earning an income outside of the home. Our objective is to share resources and tools necessary to operate a successful, home-based business.
