There’s so many balls in the air right now. First, I’m counting down to the end of another school year. In just three weeks – you heard me, THREE WEEKS – summer break will officially begin. This is always a stressful time for us. The kids all have a harder time getting up for fajr and getting out of the door on time each morning. They’re over it. I get it. But as I remind them each day while backing the van out of the driveway, “it’s not over yet; so come on, just hang in there!” This gets me more than a few eye rolls.
I’m also preparing for Ramadan. I need to plan ahead for meals, family activities, as well as activities that will be taking place at the masjid, insha’Allah.
As far as my work plans during Ramadan – well, for the past four years, I’ve kept normal business hours. Ideally I’d prefer working half days rather than full days throughout Ramadan and the summer months, but that’s not happening(again). I’m working on a plan to expand my career management and coaching business so that I can hire at least two more this fall, insha’Allah. I also plan to forces in business with my husband. Now there’s a blog post in the making. More on that change to come.
So it is what it is. I’ll just plan ahead as much as I can to ensure that we all experience a productive Ramadan, insha’Allah. How will you manage your work schedule this Ramadan?
