A few weeks ago I shared information about the Touchnote Eid campaign. I was one of several bloggers selected to participate in Touchnote’s firstMuslim Eid Challenge. Just to recap, from October 13 until Eid-al-Adha (November 6, 2011), Touchnote and American Muslim Mom challenged readers to show just how creative they could get using Touchnote to send personalized Eid postcards by mail to family and friends. Participants would get a free post card sample, and a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card.

I tried it for myself. Although I do quite a few things online, I don’t consider myself all that technically gifted. I wondered just how easy it would be for someone with zero technical and design skills to create her own post card. Thankfully it was. With just a few simple clicks of my mouse, I was able to create a very simple, not to mention adorable, postcard and quickly send them off to my mailing list. My in laws are constantly begging us for pictures of the kids, so you can imagine how excited they were to receive our customized post cards!

My only issue (a very minor one) – I couldn’t use certain images because they weren’t large enough (images must be larger than 288 pixels), but when it comes to being user friendly, fast and convenient, Touchnote rocks! Here’s one of the post cards I designed:

To learn more about Touchnote, visit their website or blog. You can also become a Facebook Fan, follow them on Twitter or subscribe to their You Tube channel.

Disclosure: I was selected for this campaign by American Muslim Mom Media Network, and received products free of charge. I was not influenced in anyway to provide only positive statements. The thoughts and opinions of this campaign are my own.

With Eid-al-Adha just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start planning your card and gift lists and preparing to celebrate with family and friends. I recently moved my family back to my hometown after 15 years. The last time I was a resident, I was not a Muslim, so now I’m slowly but surely becoming acquainted with the local community. I’ve been toying with the idea of hosting an Eid gathering to welcome some new friends into our lives, insha’Allah. In the past I’ve taken a rather haphazard route to decorating – kind of flying by the seat of my pants if you will. I love the excitement of celebrations, and decorations really do help magnify that feeling. Thankfully, modernEid has come to my rescue.

I first learned about modernEID decorations when the company teamed up with American Muslim Mom for a special campaign and contest. ModernEid specializes in uber stylish décor and accessories specifically for Eid holidays. How cool is that? When the chance to sample some of their products came my way, I pounced!

When I received my sample package in the mail, here’s what it contained:

Decorative bunting

Decorative print

Gift box

1 dozen mini cupcake frosting liners

1 dozen cupcake liners

Candy bags

Gift tags

2” round stickers

I’m sooo looking forward to putting all these goodies to good use – especially the cupcake liners (Mmmm…). You can visit modernEid on Facebook and modernEid on Twitter for updates and information about special offers.

The Blog Contest Prize: an Eid Party Kit (a $25 value) in the winner’s choice of design. The party kit includes:

Decorative print

Decorative bunting

Table runner

Buffet labels

Dessert picks

Here’s How to Enter:

To enter the contest, simply respond to this post telling me which modernEid Eid Party Kit theme design you like best; or tell me what you consider a modern Eid celebration – is it having access to more Eid decorations, or decorating with a classic, modern edge (instead of garishly loud, tacky decorations)? I really want to know what you think!

You must be over 18 years of age to participate in the contest. Shipping is available in the U.S. and Canada only. Also, the winner can only win 1 prize across all blogs (but feel free to enter everyone’s contest. The review and giveaway deadline is Wednesday, October 28, 2011 (11:59 p.m. PST).

Also, a grand prize winner at American Muslim Mom (based on ALL of the comments collectively) will receive a $50 gift certificate. Feel free to comment on these other blogs to increase your chances of winning:
