Sakina Design is an online retailer selling some of the most beautiful, eco-friendly Islamic home décor and gifts I’ve seen. I love their style – clean lines, streamline, very simple and modern. I absolutely love the Islamic wall art!

I also love that @SakinaDesign sends out important and informative tweets about news and events that matter to the Islamic community and society at large. They are staunch advocates of eco-friendly living which I also support wholeheartedly.

The revolution most certainly WILL be televised (or exposed on Twitter) as long as @yvonneridley keeps tweeting. She’s an intellectual, funny and thought provoking. This sister unabashedly speaks her mind – and I love it.

Two innovative American Muslimahs make up this exciting and creative team that is The Hijab Show, a video series examining hijab and fashion for Muslim women. Video is a hot digital, interactive medium right now. I’m looking forward to the premier and other from these sisters.

As if the name alone didn’t grab my attention (“the pink boss” – what’s not to love?), I adore the fact that this business focuses solely on developing female-owned businesses! The fact that she’s also located in Atlanta, GA is just icing on the cake. @thepinkboss sends out inspirational tweets and great advice to empower your own female owned and operated empire.

Yesterday I decided to take the day off. I’d spent Wednesday and Thursday nurturing one sick child, and by Friday another of my little ones was also sick. Sleep deprivation was getting to me, so I took time out to get some much needed rest and plan ahead for the following work week and my scheduled trip out of town next Wednesday.

It is esetial that you follow @smallbiztrends if you are running, or planning to start, your own small biz. You’ll ave access to tweets that keep you informed about basic business practices an important trends you need to know about.

Following @Habibiaaqas gives me access to links to some pretty interesting articles, webinars and discussions covering topics about Islam, family, Islamic lifestyle, etc . @soloE – I get great tips and information about running your own solo business (you know, where you’re both employer and employee).

@UrbanMuslimahs – It was this sister’s profile that immediately caught my attention. It reads:
“Opinionated(putting it lightly) Muslimah on a daily struggle to strengthen my Deen, follow me if you choose…”
How could I not follow? @UrbanMuslimah  was also kind enough to share a link to the CNN special Unwelcome: Muslims Next Door (I‘ve disabled our cable since we’ll be moving in two months). Oh, and the sister has an online store where she sells garments for sisters (abyas, hijabs, etc.). Follow her to learn more.
@FitMuslimah – This sister is a personal trainer and her tweet are the constant reminders I need to take my health and fitness more seriously. I sit in front of the computer a lot, so I have to schedule exercise into my daily schedule. She shares lots of important information relevant to women’s health.
@NobleQuran – Even on my worst day, there is nothing like reading an ayat to calm me and bring me back to what’s really important in this life – seeking the pleasure of Allah, t a’la. Follow @NobleQurant to receive these inspirational tweets.
@UmmahBuzz – I enjoy reading links to news and other information relevant to the global Islamic community. Follow @UmmahBuzz to say informed!

I’m wrapping up client work today by noon, insha’Allah, because I work half days on Fridays so that I can attend jummah with my family. Most of the time I pick up my work later in the evening after hubby leaves for work and the kids are settled in bed. Working for myself allows me to make those choices, and I am very greatful, masha’Allah.
If you spend any time on Twitter, you know that today is #FF (a.k.a. Follow Friday). The object is to let your followers know who you recommend following. I‘ve decided to detail my #FF picks each Friday here and post the link on Twitter. The reason I’m doing this is because I want to share the reasons why I recommend following someone on Twitter. I want to share the value I believe you will receive when you follow the individuals I’m recommending, and that you know I’m not just participating in some popularity contest. This UK-based web firm specializes in proving web design, SEO, social media and other Internet marketing services for Muslim businesses globally (how cool is that?). They tweet lots of very useful, timely information, tips and advice for businesses. If you need information about improving online visibility for your blog or website, or just need Internet marketing advice, follow these guys.
@ProductiveMuslim
This is another UK-based resource I recommend following. I don’t know about you, but improving productivity is a never-ending quest for me. I get great productivity, organization and time-management tips via Twitter and email (after subscribing to their mailing list). They also share some REALLY amazing Islamic apps.

@MyHalalKitchen
What can I say – I’m a closet foodie. When I saw her avatar on Twitter one day, my mouth watered and I immediately knew that I MUST follow. Sister Yvonne has an awesome food blog and kindly tweets many of her amazing recipes, kitchen organization tips and from time to time some interesting tidbits about herself (she seems so down to earth and has a lovely sense of humor). Follow her, y’all.
