Kelly McCausey of MomsTalkNetwork.com typically provides an intensive 10 week blogging internship for those looking for ways to earn an income blogging. Many apply to take part in this unique opportunity, but only a few (10 I think) are chosen. Each blog intern is assigned to one of the following blogs:
- Family Foodies
- Schmoozins
- Family TV Addicts
- Mom Giveaways
- Family on the Phone
- Profitable Mommy Blogging
- Moms Talk Radio
- Mom’s Resource Blog
- Crafts for Kidlets
- Mom Deal of the Day
I took part in the internship a few months ago as the blogger for ProfitableMommyBlogging.com. At first I wrestled over whether or not I wanted to put in the work required when I was already working hard to balance my growing business with my family obligations, but I really wanted to learn as much about blogging for profit and affiliate marketing as possible. One of my long-term goals is to increase my income streams by developing projects that bring in passive income. I felt like Kelly’s internship could help me, and I was right.
The internship teaches bloggers to use WordPress, building a daily blogging habit, using social networking (e.g. StumbleUpon, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) building relationships with other bloggers, locating and promoting affiliate programs and more. You’ll also receive weekly coaching, one-on-one coaching. The internship is a great opportunity for a brand new blogger looking to earn a monthly income from blogging, or a blogger who’s been at for a while, but has been unable to earn any money.
This time the internship is even more special. Kelly will be focusing heavily on teaching the interns to earn money through affiliate marketing. In fact, she has decided to share a percentage of the ad network income with the interns while they learn to effectively use affiliate links in their blog posts. This provides even more of an incentive to work hard because the more traffic you drive to your posts, the more money you can earn. The best part: you will take the knowledge you learn over those 10 weeks to help you develop your own blog.
Before you apply, make sure you meet the following qualifications:
- Do you have good writing skills? Do you feel comfortable doing internet research?
- Can you listen to internet audio and watch internet video?
- Can you accept and learn from criticism?
- Are you willing to make a firm commitment to the Internship?
If so, go to the blog internship page and complete the application at the bottom of the page. Kelly will be choosing the newest group of interns by July 4th, 2010.
